Took another day trip to Brighton just to visit a long time friend whose patents, sister n brother r also in town. The 1st time the family of 5 were in the same place at the same time in 15 yrs as some reside in Sgp, some in New Delhi n some in Perth, Western Australia.
We were fortunate to catch them all!!
It is a typical meeting of long time friends with families as we just chatted like we were never apart!!
Very sentimental trip for her dad as he came to Brighton in 1957 to study radio broadcasting on a scholarship!!
He is the pioneer who brought black-n-white n then colour TV broadcasting to Sgp!!
It was indeed a very memorable catch up.
Got back in the evening to hv dinner with our daughter's Japanese schoolmate n her grandma, mum n elder sister who came from Tokyo for her convocation. Her grandma is a most impressive 88 yr-old lady I hv met. Her mum is a world famous art restoration expert who had restored Van Gogh' s Sunflowers master piece!! Her elder sister is understudying her mum.
We had such a good time chatting through interpretations for the close to 2 n 1/2hrs dinner like we had known each other for ages!!
It is truly amazing as one treated the other with trust n openness, the other tends to reciprocate naturally.
A wonderful way to prepare for the good trip!!
