1. "Trump lashes out as presidency hits six-month mark

Since taking office on Jan 20, Trump has been on a roller coaster ride, and the gut-wrenching twists and turns looked set to continue"

Honestly this is the remarkable feature of the USA Presidential system! That the country somehow still work!! Or that it should there is no need for a President!!

I need to sit down n dive deep to figure how it works. 

2. "Singapore's value to the United States lies in its location: US ambassador nominee KT McFarland"

In the past, geological position has a lot of strategic value in commerce, trades n other things. It still is a huge advantage for some of the old things. Just that with the advance of technologies, it has lost some magic!

For shipping route, if the land bridge from Msia West coast to the east coast is successful, we r in some bother. If the channel in southern Thailand works, we r in troubles. 

For military purpose, having some allied forces stationed in Sgp to reduce response times to "crises" from the USA makes sense. That if pushed wider, can probably be useful. The diplomatic challenge will be if we can handle the objection of the "perceived threats" by the USA? The USA can handle that while Sgp may not be able to do so.

As for jobs, technologies definitely has made physical distance redundant n non-issue. Many jobs can be done effectively online 24/7 n 365 days. So, what can we do??

While we welcome the importance of the incoming US Ambassador's optimistic endorsement, we need to be reexamine how sustainable the physical location can we leverage on.
