Minister Ong Ye Kung said the tertiary educational institutions will not go the way of recent merging binge for Primary Schools n JCs as they still hv enough students despite the falling cohorts.
Well this is good news or bad news?
Good news if we can find jobs for these graduates. Bad news if we cannot.
When i read abt how good n how highly regarded other countries held our educational system, I could help but wonder:
1. why our graduates r not keen to serve in public offices if the pay is not high enough?;
2. why our graduates r not interested to work in certain sections of society despite having plenty of jobs opening like in healthcare, social services, etc.?;
3. why the industries n employers r complaining that Sgp local talent r not measuring up to the foreign talent that work harder, hungrier n at lower pay(?)!
So, r we really that good or we r deluding ourselves?
I hope it is the former n not the latter.
