1. Sgp warns the USA government that it's credibility is at stake on rectifying the TPP
There were drama behind the scenes when the TPP was originally signed. It was signed with, supposedly many issues not fully agreed by all concerned parties, n that they are to specify what the issues were between the "members" later!!
So in essence, there is no solid concrete n specific totally mutually agreed terms.
The Republican has always been against it while now even the Democrats r having 2nd thoughts abt this among its members.
It is harsh of the news media to headlined it as: "Sgp warns the USA..." as it is disrespectful n over-playing our "strengths", especially when PM Lee is an honoured guest of President Obama.
In fact PM Lee was spot on with the diplomatic speech that in a complicated election year, TPP can be troublesome but best to rectify it before the election. The mention of litmus test is how we want to frame it though the Americans of the near future may have other ideas.
Enjoy the state dinner n the honours accorded our little red dot for now. Hard work ahead if Donald is elected.
2. Families of the ISA detainee said his views were not properly framed by the authorities. That some of his posting suggest that he is not radicalised nor embracing the violent n brutal IS way.
Good to hear that his families told "his side" of the stories. One has to assume that the arrest was made only after many years of monitoring n explaining. As for the black flag, not sure if the flag was ever explained as claimed: that is is not IS but a routine n normal black flag!
At this point it is really the families' words against the authority, who had been careful n detailed in disclosing the troublesome acts of the detainee. The government's version seems more probable for now.
Good luck to the detainee n may he be a changed man after this!!
