1. Reported that PM of Malaysia said that 1MDB did a lot of corporate social responsibility (CSR) acts.
Interesting comments. CSR acts r good to help the disadvantaged to help themselves but would be a disaster if they breed dependency n clutches mentally.
I m sure the DOJ n FBI of the USA will be keen to scrutinise what type of CSR acts had been done.
2. The MD of MAS reported his regrets abt the recent anti-money laundering offences committed by some banks under its supervision tarnishing Sgp stellar financial centre status. He said it was unacceptable. Indeed. Hopefully these r the exceptions n we r good as gold again!!
In the same release, he mentioned that it is still too early to lift the property cooling measures despite the clamouring by property developers n owners who wanted to cash in, except those who had bought properties in the last 5 years n r under water, because the risks r still considerable.
Wise move that needs lots of courage as big money lobbying in Sgp rarely works nor condone. This is the most important feature of Sgp government, which at one time was too pro n close to the real estate developers!
When total debts r still at an excessive level as seen by MAS, it should stick to doing the right thing for the nation n NOT just a small group of interested parties of society.
Ps: by the way the launch of Lake Grande did very well so it shows that there is no need to release the cooling measure. Yes? Lol!!
