Just watched the CNA "Get Real!" documentary on humans trafficking, especially the Myanmar Rohinya into Thailand n Malaysia.
It is shocking the atrocity n human sufferring inflicted on these people. As some of the police investigators said: "unimaginable that a human being would have treated another fellow human being in such a manner!" These too were hardened veteran policemen!!
Will this tragedy ends? Maybe if the source of refugees can be stopped.
The Rohinya has no special champions for their causes. They have no money n no power. Nobody really care.
Can the new democratically elected Myanmar government Will someone be couraheous to solve this issue? Most probably as it has won by a landslide. Will it risk upsetting the majority of the voters who are non-Muslims to grant the Muslim Rohinya citizenship which will stop them from running away from Myanmar!
Will someone be courageous enough to take the 1st step? I hope so as it is simply painful to see slavery existing in the 21st century.
