A shocking news that our Finance Minister, Mr Heng Swee KENT, had a stroke at the weekly cabinet meeting this evening.
It seems quite serious and hope that he will get stabilised and recover quickly and fully.
He has being a good minister at MoE envisioning "Every school is a good school" slogan and taking concrete steps to bring it to reality like: moving top principals to schools that need them more; introduction banding instead of single score for PSLE; etc.
The finance jobs has not being easy even though he was the MD of MAS for a while as Singapore's economy is facing the steepest tests since the mid 80s with lots of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA).
Hopefully he will come back stronger to help the nation navigate this turbulent sea change.
The forthmost attention must be his treatment and recuperation.
Get well Mr Heng. Get well.
