A play on words: 'May the 4th be with you' has been making appearances all over the online space! Indeed for the Star War fans, May is never enough. It has to be every month of the year that: The Force is with you!
"Donald Trump switches focus to Hillary Clinton after sealing US presidential nomination - The Straits Times 04 May 2016
WASHINGTON - Controversial tycoon Donald Trump called for Republican Party unity against Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton at his victory speech on Tuesday (May 3) after becoming his party's presumptive nominee.
Stepping up to the podium in Trump Tower in New York shortly after his closest rival, Senator Ted Cruz, bowed out, Mr Trump delivered a speech that was full of his trademark bombast but also featured plenty of restraint.
"I want to congratulate Ted, I know how tough it is. I had some moments when it was not looking so good and it's not a great feeling."
He quickly added that he wanted to bring unity to the Republican Party, saying that he is already getting calls from critics.
"We have to bring unity. It is so much easier if we have it. People who have said the worst things about me… and they are calling us all and they say they would love to get on the train, the Trump train."
He said: "We're going after Hillary Clinton. She will not be a great president, she will not be a good president, she will be a poor president. She doesn't understand trade…"
"That's going to continue because they are not going to be able to do it folks. They are not going to be able to make trade deals, they are not going to be able to do what we can with the military, they are not going to be able to do what we are going to be able to do on the border, including the wall."
"We are going to win in November and we're going to win big," he added."
Let me clear my throat! So the NIGHTMARE is for real now! Or should I read a bit much into the word: 'presumptive' as in 'presumptive nominee' and things can STILL CHANGE where Mr Trump is somehow 'dump'?
Anyway, while some used to sing the praises of how the fierce competition and barbs thrown at each other during the nomination campaign between candidates are thrown out of the window and erased from memories, this particularly nasty campaign somehow does not square with me to hear the 'presumed' nominee singing the same tune. It just simply sounds INSINCERE and faked!
It probably confirms my beliefs that the type of politics in the USA MUST NEVER, never say never so I changed it to: 'must be kept out from', be the type of politics we have in Singapore.
Our voters MUST be wiser then those in the USA. Our voters must be able to be rationale instead of being emotional though seasoned campaigners will know how arouse emotion and capitalize on that moment of 'weakness or madness'!
Some big celebrities in the USA commented how obscene the amount of money is thrown into these Presidential nomination race! Millionaires who are commenting that it takes too much money. So, only the RICH or well endowed can try their hands at being the President of USA. One of the supposedly Superpower of the world! While I am good with rich guys and gals getting a chance to be the President of USA, I DO have a problem when the not so rich who aspired to do the same will not get a sniff. That surely is not what the American Dream is all about.
Anyway, Donald Trump the Republican Presidential candidate. Republican candidate. Hmm. Simply does not read RIGHT for me.
While the early poll shows Ms Hillary ahead of Mr Trump, you can get hurt bad if you decide to write this back-from-the-ashes billionaire that like to 'talk big', 'live big' and 'win big' off at your own risk!
Let the DRAMA begins in earnest. Let the battle begin.
