Daily Lessons from Life 06 July 2015 - Greek Tragedy II?

1. "Amos Yee given 4-week backdated jail term; blogger is 'remorseful', says lawyer - CNA 06 July 2015

The teen was earlier guilty of two charges - one for making offensive or wounding remarks against Christianity and another for circulating obscene imagery. He intends to appeal against his conviction and sentence, his lawyer says."

This is FINALLY over. Glad to learn that Amos is 'remorseful'. I am NOT SURE if it is a good idea to 'appeal' though. Still he and his lawyer can decide what they or he want to do as it is their legal rights to do if they so wish!

2. "Greek FM resigns in concession to creditors after referendum - CNA 06 july 2015

A day after the Greek referendum, the country's Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis has announced his resignation."

It is surreal to see Greeks celebrating in the national reference to reject the austerity demanded by its EU creditors with a resounding 60% votes. It is pure emotional out-letting as the rational minds said: how could this be? Own Money Pay Money right? Even the loan sharks and their customers KNOW things can get ugly if you don't pay up your legal debts! LOL!!

Seriously, this is a serious matter. The financial markets all over the world supposedly had reacted to this 'catasthropy'. YET, it begets the question: 'HOW the heck did the EU Creditors manage to lend the Greeks SO MUCH MONEY in the 1st place?'!! Is this a case of: I need to make some interest income, so please TAKE THESE MONEY! We will figure out SOMETHING IF YOU cannot pay to fund your consumptions!!'???

Maybe those HIGH INCOME by the Banks and the lenders of YESTER-YEARS were just illusions? Maybe the 'loose credit' has come back to bite the lenders!!??

For me, I go back to mum's teaching: spend within your means. Stay away from the poison of credit unless you borrowed BIG if you must borrow!'

Hang on to the runaway out-of-control train??!!
