Daily Lessons from Life 11 June 2013 - Plane breaks up after crash-landing

"Plane breaks up after crash-landing - Jakarta Post 11 June 2013 The safety and air-worthiness of the Chinese-made Xian MA60 twin turboprop aircraft is again being questioned after it was involved in two separate accidents in Indonesia and Myanmar on Monday. An MA60 operated by Merpati Nusantara Airlines (MNA) hard-landed in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, while another aircraft operated by Myanma Airlines swerved off the runway in Kawthaung, Myanmar." Luckily these 2 incidents have NO fatalities. A miracle in itself. Interestingly, China also successfully fired off a rocket that carried 3 astronauts who will be circling earth and do live experiments in space while its locally made aircraft carrier was at sea for more naval exercises to great fanfare and pride. Lessons for me are: 1. which part of the technologically advanced PRC's products are on display? Or the airplane accidents are due to pilot errors or natural forces or poor maintenance by the airlines involved instead of issues with the planes themselves?; 2. the jury is probably still out and both may well be not due to the planes themselves given that the two countries where the accidents happened are not well known for having a clean and safe aircraft maintenance records!; 3. the PRC will definitely defend the reputation of their planes if anyone try to pin the blame on the planes. So, it will be interesting to find out what exactly contributed to these accidents. 'Make in China' is on trial really ... Will it pass the test with flying colors? Hopefully so.
