"AHPETC proposes dialogue over hawker issue as row continues - Singapolitics Jun 10, 2013 SINGAPORE - The Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town Council (AHPETC) has invited the Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Vivian Balakrishnan to a dialogue with the MPs in the council to "settle any outstanding matters"." A brilliant suggestion. Settle whatever issues there may be face-to-face and get back to doing the work that Singaporeans expect them to do. NEA to tackle the pressing deadly spread of Dengues. AHPETC to serving the residents to their satisfaction. Ministers and MPs to serve their constituents as expected - regardless of if they voted for or against them. Lessons for me are. Oh no, just 1 lesson: Put on the problems-solving mindset and fix the problems professionally without going to the press. Both WP and PAP should heed this advice as Singaporeans are NOT interested in drama that degrade our political system. Singaporeans want elected officials to serve them, and serve them well.
