Daily Lessons from Life 21-22 January 2011 - Friends

Missed 21 January 2011 as I was late coming back from dinner with a long time friend and his wife in Bangkok. It is such a pleasure to meet friends who probably had better things to do on a Friday night with me. So I am very honoured and glad.

On the way to the dinner, I got lost as I took the wrong train. The good thing was it took me to the Dusit Thani Hotel where I had stayed on a few occassions in the past. So I was able to find my way to the right place after talking to him on the phone. I felt sorry that he had to leave his wife at the dining table and came to 'collect' me!

He is a fine friend instead as he dismissed my getting-lost as not-worth-mentioning! I am lucky. And am glad to have friends like that. THANK YOU!!

22 Januray 2011 Met up with another friend and his wife in Singapro upon my return from Bangkok. We have known each other since 1993 and were neighbours when my wife was expatriated to Shanghai from 2002-2005. Our family went out to have dinner with them and it was absolutely an enjoyable session. His wife get to taste the much loved peppper crabs and we all had a great time catching up on each other recent going on as well as reminising a little bit after the good old days. Our kids were around and they felt comfortable chatting with our 2 matured friends as well. This is pleasing for me.

We went to the Marina Barrage after dinner and were surprised to find many night kite flyers around! The kites were adorned with LED lights and spinned various patterns and varied in sizes. The night sky was filled with spectacular LED-lid kites painting a most intriguing pictures!

By the time we realised it, it was already 2300 hours! How time flies when you are enjoying yourself and the company!

Again, I am thankful that I have friends whom I can connect easily and at a high personal level despite not being able to meet others as often as I like.
