Good news as one of SembCorp companies is involved.
Reading the plan for this new industrial park has a very familiar ring to it: build the infrastructure, set up specific vocation training to train workers that will be needed by the companies that will be attracted to come. A tried n tested successful formula when opening up more traditional industries.
Sgp companies who can be there can reap the benefits if all worked out.
This does not solve the domestic unemployment of the older PMETs nor those of our younger supposedly "tech-savvy" workers. That is another battle front to fight.
It is critical that we continue to hv good relationship with Indonesia as it is still a big market we can explore.
