Daily Lessons from Life 22-24 March 2013 - Various

Had been busy the last few nights with no proper access to internet hence this catch up. 1. listened to hypocrisy in an USA radio show The DJ said how guns were used to keep people safe when a man killed a pitbull that attacked 2 church workers on home visit and another story on how a housewife and her young kid scared an intruder off after firing a shot from her hand gun. Right after these 2 stories, there was reports of how a correctional commissioner got killed by a gun fired from someone unknown and another murder in the same city. I guessed people choose what to say conveniently Hypocrisy!?!? 2. only in the USA where a major broadcasting company sparred with its star employee publicly Jay Reno, the no. 1 talk show host in the USA was rumoured to be dumped by his employer after he publicly derided the company and the executives as 'snakes'! It was supposed to be funny since his job is to be funny!! The Talk Show is really an unique phenomenon in the USA as I don't think there are any other countries where someone can be paid millions and millions of dollar talking 'funny' in a late night slot! Funny things that don't really mean much most of the time! A reflection of the quality or just a habitual no-harm recreational creation? This is NOT the first time the employer and employee sparred in public. The last time out the 'bosses' have to get Jay back as the 'people' said they want Jay back!! Talking about the power of PEOPLE! LOL!! 3. Interesting learning about the Cowboys and Rodeo culture of the USA. They do look so genuine and loving the so-out-dated way of life. The performers, as I am inclined to call them, will disagree with me and point me to the many more cowboys and cowgirls and their families and friends who really live life as cowboys and cowgirls instead of 'rodeo' performers. Also note worthy that the Americans always start their sporting events with singing of the National Anthem. Some friends from China commented that it is a good way to instill patriotism and passion. I kind of agreed. A capitalist country adopted the 'communist's method' (of 'brain washing'? :-))
