"SingPost announces new measures to improve service standards
SINGAPORE: Singapore Post (SingPost) announced new measures on Thursday (Feb 7) to improve its standards as part of a review into its postal operations in light of recent service failures.
The new measures were released after SingPost was fined S$100,000 by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) on Thursday for failing to deliver mail on time in 2017.
Among the new initiatives was reducing the workload of postmen. SingPost said in their statement workloads have been increasing significantly due to the rise of e-commerce and cheaper postage."
Do we need an ang moh to b the CEO of Singtel? Thot the last ang moh CEO screwed up big time after 2 yrs of "good shows" with good package n a multi-million dollar write down of a foreign acquisitions? Not to mention some independent directors had some conflict of interest issue?
Anyway, ang moh or not probably is not the issue.
Just make sure SingPost delivers given it is almost a monopoly if it is not one!!
Notes: It seems like SingPost knows the workloads of the postmen had increased significantly given it is able to provide all these data analysis. Wonder why it has to wait it gets fine S$100k for poor services quality b4 taking actions?
Their rewards system ENCOURAGES pushing costs down regardless of matching capacity n manpower? Also, if work load is the issue, i wonder how training the postmen can help though reassigned MORE parcel for e-commerce makes some sense!!
Good luck to another State-owned Sgp icon!!
