A few surprises fr Dr M:
1. Cancellation of the HSR deal is 1st released at a FT interview before informing Sgp government, the partner in this deal.
2. Formally withdrew fr contesting the Pedra Branca territorial dispute though mentioned that his government would expand the Middle Rock "island" bigger.
3. Inappropriately mentioned about how Sgp voters must, like the Msians, tired of having the same government for so long!
These occurrences summarised the test that the 4th Gen leaders will face dealing with Dr M's Msia, at least for the next 2 yrs!

On the Pedra Branca case, I quote our Foreign Minister's responses below:
"In response to Malaysia's decision to discontinue its challenges, Singapore's Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan said "we are happy to agree".
“We were confident of our case, and the correctness of the original ICJ decision," said Dr Balakrishnan.
"When Malaysia requested to discontinue the cases, without them being argued, we were happy to agree. Both Malaysia and Singapore had gone through the due legal process and put this matter to rest."
He obviously felt compelled to emphasise that Sgp case us very strong n happy to accept the withdrawal by Msia government! Is that necessary given that the PM Lee has not responded to the MOST INAPPROPRIATE comments by Dr M on "getting tire of the same government for so long"!!
Also, how to deal with this change of priority thingy resulting in the formal cancellation of the HSR agreement?
To tell Dr M in his face that he cannot anyhow mess with Sgp as we hv all the legal terms spelt out n will take Msia government to international courts, etc.?
Or ...
Guessed PM Lee n his cabinet is pondering over how to deal with Dr M's Msia overly n not just on these exposed issues.
How to maintain the dignity of Sgp n yet work with Dr M's Msia on mutual respect n mutually beneficial manner!
Before anything else, please tell Dr M to stop joking abt Sgp voters may be tired of the same government after all these years!! Of course, the comments by our so-called special advisor to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Billahari or Bidadari (the Muslim cemetery name?), that the deposed BN will never happened was utterly unhelpful!!
