"Leaders needed to fix global 'mess', says Kofi Annan

PARIS: Former UN chiefs Kofi Annan and Ban Ki-moon have lashed out at the state of global leadership in the age of Donald Trump, warning a nuclear war could be triggered by accident.

"Honestly speaking, we are in a mess," Annan told AFP in an interview ahead of Tuesday's (Dec 12) climate talks in Paris.

"In the past when we went through this sort of crisis, you had leaders who had the courage and the vision to want to take action, to understand that they needed to work with others," he said.

At a time of growing US isolationism - Trump has announced plans to leave the Paris climate deal agreed two years ago on this day - Annan urged leaders to cooperate better on fighting terrorism, migration and global warming.

"Today, leaders are going in the wrong direction," he said. "Leaders are withdrawing."

He expressed particular concern over escalating tensions with North Korea, warning: "One miscalculation, one mistake and we are all victims"."

Lol. Kofi is an ok guy. Yet for him to lash out at global leaders withdrawing fr taking actions simply didn't feel right!

Trump is take actions as promised in h8s controversial election campaign. He is taking actions as he see fit n proper for America n the democratic voters who put in into the White House. Of course, it the USA government can prove that Russian really helped him to win n he try to obstruct justice, he may be removed, which is a great news for most of the world!

Turkey just chided the Arabs for a weak response to Trump's declaration that Jerusalem is the capital of Isreal. Maybe the Turk that make this accusation knows better. 

The alleged reaction just validated that Trump is right while the rest of the whole that warned abt violence n unrest will trigger world war III or some calamities were obviously wrong!

Life goes on!!

So Kofi, the world leaders did not withdraw. Trump just went his own way with the legitimacy of an elected President of USA office mandate!

TELL HIM THAT HE IS WRONG!! Stopped blaming the rest!! Sgp leaders want PPT, climate change m what not. We didn't withdraw!!
