1. "PM Lee to visit Donald Trump at White House on Oct 23"
Great news. Maybe PM Lee has some messages fr President Xi for Trump who will be visiting Beijing himself soon?
Whatever it is, Trump is NOT Obama n we hv to be careful dealing with him. There is absolutely no need to say anything abt PRC as it is an independent big country that can deal with the USA directly. Unless, of course, our Chinese friends hv done special messages for Trump that r best conveyed through a mutual friendly 3rd party.
None of the overhyped n glamorous state dinner the last time PM Lee visited.
None of the angering a big friendly China this time please.

2. "Donna Karan defends Harvey Weinstein, then apologises
NEW YORK: Critics called for a boycott of American fashion designer Donna Karan's products Tuesday (Oct 10), after she defended Harvey Weinstein, the Hollywood mogul fired from the studio he co-founded amid allegations of sexual harassment.
On Sunday, Karan had suggested women had been seeking a reaction from Weinstein by dressing provocatively. After a barrage of criticism, she apologised, but the condemnation kept pouring in.
"I think he's being looked at right now as a symbol, not necessarily as him. I know his wife, I think they're wonderful people. Harvey has done some amazing things," the founder of DKNY said about Weinstein on the red carpet for the CineFashion Film Awards in Los Angeles.
"It's not Harvey Weinstein. You look at everything all over the world today and how women are dressing, what they're asking by just presenting themselves the way they do. What are they asking for? Trouble."
The comments triggered outrage, including from actress Rose McGowan, whom The New York Times said had reached a settlement with Weinstein in 1997 after the producer had behaved inappropriately toward her.
"Donna Karan you are a DEPLORABLE," McGowan, 44, tweeted Monday."
Well, DK is a woman n a fashion designer. While one must not judge too quickly, it is incredulous that she said women, some probably been led by her designs to wear provocatively, r looking for troubles! Talk abt shooting your own feet! Some would said she just shot her own self!!
Maybe the culprit in question is very nice to her. Maybe the wife is very nice to her. Still, putting the blame on the "victims" because they dressed for "troubles" is a bit weird for a provocative fashion designer who is a woman too!
Anyway, sex n entertainment r intertwine quite a bit. It is fine if all r consenting adults. However when 9ne is abusing his or her power over another unwilling subject, it is wrong.
