It is 4th of July 2015 - the USA Independent Day while fireworks spectacle galore are in store - and I decide to have a bit of fun on the 'hot topic of the moment in Singapore' and some trivial.
1. "Minority PM for Singapore - by DPM Tharman in response to a question at the SG50+ Convention"
Just for laugh, out of the 3 PMs we have, 2 were from the Peranakan minority with the current PM being the son of the 1st PM while the 2nd PM after the 1st PM who is the father of the 3rd PM is a Chinese.
So, DMP Tharman and the rest of the distinguished audiences, excluding the student leaders invited, probably got it badly WRONG!!
Personally, to have a coloured minority PM in Singapore is NO BIG DEAL if a boy from Kenya can become the 44th President of USA right? In Singapore, the PM is picked by the winning party and as long as the Malay or Indian or Eurasian or new Citizen who is wanted by the rest of his or her colleagues to be the PM, he or she WILL BE!!
Let's move on and stop discussing this fairly meaningless issue! Yes?
2. "Singapore Botanic Gardens declared UNESCO World Heritage Site - CNA 04 July 2015
It is Singapore's first World Heritage site and the third Botanic Gardens to be listed as a World Heritage Site, after Kew Gardens in England and the Padua Gardens in Italy."
Congratulations on this recognition. It is a rather nice place to jog, picnic, relax and enjoy the nature.
3. "Man who smoked in train identified - AsiaOne 04 July 2015"
Supposedly 'foreigners' acting STUPIDLY violating Singapore laws. Now, it is pay back time! They probably don't realise that when you put something on youtube, 'fame' will find you! LOL!!
