"Phey Yew Kok, a former president of the NTUC and PAP MP, has returned to Singapore to face charges of criminal breach of trust served to him in 1979."
Okay. I am a bit late to this old news. But I like to put a new spin and angle to it!
Lessons for me are:
1. run from your own country if you have the mean and you don't want to face the legal consequence of your behaviours and actual deed! If you are NOT really that much of a BIG DEAL, you probably CAN live in the adopted land or adopted country for as long as you like it since the authority will NOT want to 'waste' limited resources on you!;
2. if you must come home to face the charges against you, do it after you have reached 80 years old. 90 will be even better if you live that long!!
When you are passed 80 years old and the incidents upon which you were been charged against, SIMPLE pales after all these years! If you would STILL be disturbed by the going on, then probably you are NOT ready to come home! Come home ONLY when you truly have NOTHING to lose and EVERYTHING to gain. One of which is being able to DIE and be buried in the land you called home and country'!;
3. much will need to be learned on WHY Mr Phey decided to come home after such a long time? One of the probably answers is: he wants to live with his family member and to DIE and be buried HERE!! If this is true, it demonstrated YET AGAIN, 'emotion' triumphed over 'rationality'! The pull of: 'I want to die and be buried here' is a strong motivational force.
Have a peace of mind Mr Phey. Many just wonder if the trial will throw up any juicy new information unknown to public then, and now!
