1. "MH370 report: Black box battery expired a year before plane vanished - The Star/Asia News Network Mar 09, 2015"
Honestly. This is CRIMINAL!! It is such a BLOODY CRUEL thing to reveal to the families and friends of those who are STILL REPORTING MISSING a year after the plane simply just VANISHED from the sky!
It is SO SO ridiculous and utterly twisted! I am speechless. And numbed!!
2. "'I felt I was unfit to be a mum' - The New Paper Mar 09, 2015
For two years, she watched helplessly as her husband repeatedly kicked, slapped and pinched her son.
When she tried to intervene, she ended up being assaulted and suffered a gash above her lip on one occasion. "I felt that I was not fit to be a mother. I felt so guilty because there was nothing I could do to save my son from my husband's beatings," said the housewife in her late 20s, who wanted to be known only as Madam Fifi. On Tuesday, her seven-year-old son was admitted to hospital after his teacher noticed injuries on his head and thighs, after the latest thrashing by his stepfather.
The husband, a 27-year-old cleaner, has been arrested for child abuse, a police spokesman said. Madam Fifi told The New Paper yesterday that she had married her husband in June 2012. It was her second marriage. For about two years, he would beat her and her first son whenever things do not go right for him at home. "At first, I tried to stop him, but he ended up hitting me as well. Once I had a gash above my lip that required two to three stitches.
"After that, I became fearful. I wanted to help my son, but many times I would end up trembling and not be able to move," Madam Fifi said.
She said she applied for a personal protection order against her husband last year, but the beatings continued. The latest incident happened last Saturday when she was preparing food in the kitchen of their one-room rental flat in the west.
Madam Fifi and her two sons are under police protection for the time being.
A police spokesman said a 27-year-old man was arrested for breaching the personal protection order. He is assisting in investigations. Madam Fifi said she had suffered for almost three years in the hope that her second marriage would work out. She said: "I didn't want to break our family apart. But now I hope for justice to be done.""
A sad and seemingly persistent problems in some parts of Singapore society as this domestic violence and abuses cases had been around , and STILL is getting the attention of the press!!
Lessons for me are:
1. FEAR can paralyse! For 2 years, out of fear the mother did not protect her child from the abuses. It is REAL though some can BLAMED the mother from been weak or whatever. It is a complex emotion that some will not understand unless you are in that situation! The stress and guilt feeling COULD have broken the mother's mental weaknesses even MORE;
2. an enforcement loophole or POOR FOLLOW UP to the enforcement of Personal Protection Order (PPO) in this case? Also, is this JUST an isolate case? It is worrying to learn that after the PPO was taken up against the husband, he was STILL living in the same household? Is this normal? If not, WHY did this situation exist? How MANY MORE abused people are STILL living with the abusers whom the court's PPO are supposed to protect? What are the obligation of the law enforcement agencies and personnel in such cases?
A worrying issue that need VERY CLEAR EXPLANATION and REASSURANCE!!
3. another issue highlighted by this case is: do we have a lot of young mothers? is it real that too many young and 'not-yet-ready' girls are become mothers? If so, what can be done to help them, especially before they become pregnant and give birth?
When parents are not ready to have children BUT do, the problems created are not just between too overly stressed parents but also a lot of 'negative left-over' effects of poor childhood leading to the NEXT GENERATION of problems!!
May this mother and her 2 kids get adequately help to HELP THEM TO HELP THEMSELVES! It will be a personal journey that will take personal mastery of when to do what and how to be back on track!
Peace to the world. No violence.
