I am sadly reminded that today is the 10th anniversary of the deadliest natural disaster of modern time where more than 200+ thousand people perished in walls of water, wave after wave around many shores in the Indian and Pacific oceans.
How time flies. For many of us, like me, this tragedy had been forgotten, or pushed to the back of the long term memory bank as we are NOT close to the victims. They are but numbers on the TV screens, YouTube faces, pages of magazines and newspapers, etc.

Yet, for those who have lost their loved ones or even an acquaintance with a blurred face, today must have been another daunting day. For those who survived the terrors, hopefully they have found help and/or through their own courage and daring do, recovered and free from their traumas and the pains. It is only when they can free themselves through their own free iron will will they be truly free.
Ten years on. People and things must move on. Ten years on, we must also remember not to neglect the maintenance of the tsunami alert system strengthened in the aftermath. For no one want to be reminded of another devastating natural disaster of this scale if the most feared occurred again! No one will want to be reminded for how many lives can be lost.
Rest in peace to those who passed on. Live well for those who remained.
