Daily Lessons from Life 18 April 2014 - 7.0-magnitude quake rattles Mexico City

Happy Good Friday to my Christian friends as this is THE REASON why they believe their religion is special to them - that Jesus rises from the death on Easter Monday, and there is 'afterlife'.

MH370 Updates - still no sight of the missing plane.

Incheon-Jeju Ferry Tragedy Updates - Captain abandoned SHIP! He said he was ashamed. He SHOULD BE. Hope is fading to find the slightly under 200 unaccounted passengers.

"7.0-magnitude quake rattles Mexico City - AFP 18 April 2014

MEXICO CITY: A powerful 7.0-magnitude earthquake rattled Mexico City on Friday, swaying buildings, shattering windows and prompting people to rush into the street, authorities said.

The National Seismology Service said the quake's epicenter was 31 kilometres northwest of Tecpan, in the southwestern state of Guerrero."

Should we be concerned about ANOTHER earthquake some far away from Singapore?

Lessons for me are:

1. there are many things going on in our world. Some serious but impact us little. Some serious but has ZERO impact on us in the immediate or short term. These type of going on are best, as any logical person will conclude, to ignore;

2. however these 'we should not bothered' happening MAY BE trying to tell us something. That perhaps we should be paying attention as they happened on Earth, human being's common habitat. What happened in one part of the Earth will eventually impact the other part, no matter how FAR away it may be;

3. personally I am growing increasingly concerned about the increased frequency of fairly major earthquakes around the ring of fires that go round the world. Maybe I am just being paranoid. Maybe in Singapore, a blessed piece of land that is shielded from direct earthquake though recent aftershocks from our neighbour, Indonesia, did rocked and caused buildings to swell noticeably, will NOT suffer too much when the BIG ONE hit another place on Earth.

I can only hope that the scientists are doing their research to understand as much as possible and then people in government around the world and give some attention to them and perhaps prepared for the BIG ONE. It will be ugly for sure.

Are we ready? Should we seriously prepare for one in Singapore?
