Daily Lessons from Life 23 July 2013 - Royal Baby in UK and Chinese man kills one-child policy officials

"Royal Baby in UK - Kate and William thank hospital as world waits to see royal baby - AFP Jul 23, 2013 LONDON - Britain's Prince William and his wife Kate on Tuesday thanked staff at the hospital where their baby son was born, as the world waited for a name and hopefully a glimpse of the future king." and "Chinese man kills one-child policy officials - AFP Jul 23, 2013 BEIJING - A knife-wielding man stormed an office enforcing China's one-child policy on Tuesday, stabbing two officials to death and injuring four people after a row over his offspring, state media said. Bureau staff had earlier refused to give the man, surnamed He, the papers he needed to obtain a residency permit for his fourth child, the official Xinhua news agency said, as he had not paid a "social compensation fee" for having it in violation of the family planning policy." 2 babies were born. To, hopefully, happy parents who wanted the baby. I am not sure Kate and William will have that much trouble given that it is their 1st child. Not so that Guangxi man who stabbed 2 officials in the Birth Control Bureau that day! Lessons for me are: 1. as an anarchist, I treat 'royal' baby the same as any other babies born to this world. In this day and age, it confused me to see a baby being called a 'prince' while another may just be a digit in the world infant mortality rate! Something is simply not right; 2. whenever a baby arrived, it must be celebrated as it means the human race gets another chance to keep living. Alas, some babies are not so lucky in that they are born into a very poor and survival-unfriendly environment and they become ill and then die. Some were born into wealthier family who can afford all the survival-secured environment and conditions and cares and the babies grow, develop and become grown up eventually. Good adult, hopefully!; 3. whatever the fate, wherever the baby is born; one thing is for sure: good parenting makes a world of different. Never mind the protocols and many ceremonial stuffs the 'prince' has to learn. Never mind the 'normal kids' have to learn about how to survive. At the end of the day, if they are NOT good person, it is a wasted trip! My sympathy to the desperate Guangxi father of a 4th child for committing that crime. Killing 2 persons cannot be the best way to welcome your kid to the world. Yet, who knows why he did what he had done. Regardless, it is wrong. He has to face the consequence. If there is something amiss in the conducts of those 'one-child policy officials', we need to know. Yet, do they deserved death? Crazy world. As for Kate and William, congratulation. Be a good parent to your kid. He is no 'prince' to me as he will still get smack by me if he misbehave. Bring him to Singapore when he is older! LOL!!
