Daily Lessons from Life 04-09 July 2013 - Miracles and Singapore Catholic Sex Scandal

Was away in the Great Wall Country since 4 July and have no access to blog. 1. miraculous airplane disaster in San Francisco For a frequent flyer, I leave it to fate whenever I get on board a plane. I also trust that the pilots are competent and want to live a long and good life. It is most unfortunate that the plane hit the sea wall and broke up before bursting into an inferno fire. 2 young lives were confirmed lost with 180+ injured and the rest survived from a total mof more than 290 people. Overall, it is a miracle as you would have concluded that everyoone on board had perished given the extent of damages of the plane. Charred and burned! Condolences to the families of the dead 2. Singapore Catholic Church to probe sex-abuse charges - AFP Jul 09, 2013 SINGAPORE - The Roman Catholic church in Singapore has vowed to investigate any charges of sexual misconduct by its clergy after an Australian woman claimed she was abused by priests as a teenager in the city-state. Singapore-born psychotherapist Jane Leigh, 36, said in an autobiography published last month that she had been sexually abused by two Catholic priests before she moved to Australia in 1995. Leigh, now a practitioner in Melbourne, said in her book "My Nine Lives" that she was first abused by a priest in Singapore when she was 13. She alleged that she was abused by another priest when she was 15 after being sent to him for counselling." Thought we only read about these in the West. Hopefully the allegations are but just misunderstanding or sensationalism to sell more books. However, if they are true, then the culprits MUST be brought to justice and punished by God himself or Virgin Mary. And the laws, of course. Ms Leigh said the book is to help her break free from the 'prison' and offer help to other sexual abused victims hope and courage that they CAN live a normal and productive life despite the terrible abuses they had suffered. She is a single mother of two. Not easy. May she find, or had found, peace and purpose now.
