Daily Lessons from 03-18 July 2012 - A LONG Break!!

No excuse for missing so many days of blog writing even though I was travelling in and out of China, a country which still blocks access to this blog site during this period.

A quick catch up:

1. Barclay's Libor fiasco revealed a systemic sickness with the 'bankers' in general. Sad really as parents used to object to their daughters marrying salesmen and then now have to warm them against the once respectable and honourable bankers! :-);

2. how easy it is too become slack and ill-discipline when you are on a hectic travelling schedule and not keep to your commitment. Luckily I was still, somewhat, did a few jogs in the gym during this period though I can definitely do better!;

3. Met up long time friends and celebrated the 54th birthday for one of them as a side distraction. Relax and basically catching up and shooting the breeze and doing some silly things to amuse 'not-so-young' selves!;

4. Olympics is looming large with last than 2 weeks to go. The 100m field promises to be the strongest ever with more than 6 runners going under 10 sec consistently! Unbelievable when we once thought running under 10 sec is already world record not too long ago!!;

5. A minister without portfolio of Singapore said he rather do the right things and NOT get voted in vs. do the wrong things just to get voted in. Laudable but missing the points. A great leader will ask WHY the majority of the people are NOT in agreement with him or her when he or she is so sure that he or she is doing the RIGHT THINGS? It is either he or she is missing something or that the Majority of the people are NOT able to understand the reasons he or she is dong the RIGHT things. If it is the latter case, I am EVEN MORE worry as the one-man & one-woman one-vote democracy system will NOT delivered!!

May I get to write the blog regularly again during this time when I DO NOT travel to China until the end of the month! :-)
