Well. I simply have to comment on this headline news from the USA though I do not think that it will mean much to the terrorist organization that he once led.
Lessons for me are:
1. why did it take the world most powerful nation 10 years from 9/11 strike by his organization to hunt and kill him, in a fairly large city in a supposedly friendly nation, Pakistan? Pakistan's record as a base to launch terrorist attacks against its neighbour, India, especially the one in Mumbai where a Singaporean lawyer was killed, still remind me of its ambigous stand on combating terrorism. That suspicion lingered in many other friendly countries I believed;
2. the American, some of them anyway, reaction to the death of Obama showed that they really care that this mastermind of the atrocious 9/11 attack that kill many Americans and citizens of many other nations that worked in those buildings and places that were attacked had been killed by American special forces. Yet. The celebration is not really an end to the menace that terrorism posed to America and the world. The root of the brand of terrorism that Osama sprouted is one that hide behind religious cause. It will survive a mere mortal as it is made to be a religious cause to kill innocent lives to advance their causes. We must deal with the root causes to stop this craziness and insanity!;
3. the maybe a backslash as the organization 'avenge' the killing of its 'leader'. Is the organizaiton still potent after the death of its supposed leader? We will know in due course. If there is not much actions by it, the death of Osama is a big deal. If the terrorists' actions are intense and frequent, we validate my theory raised in comment no. 2 above.
It is perplexing for me to comprehend many of these suicide attacks launched by these terrorists as I had commented just a few nights back on the 12-year old suicide bomber in Afganistan. It will continue to puzzle me until these 'glorified' terrorist's actions stop. By the terrorists themselves as they realized that it has nobody to resolve whatever issues they faced!
