Yes. I went missing in action during the period from 29 March to 09 April 2011 as I was in PRC! This is something I really dislike about going to PRC and starve of the opportunities to write about what I can learn from the daily happening. In fact, in PRC China, there are SO MANY learning to be had as there seems to always be something bizarre or unthinking or unimaginable that are fairly routine in China!
e.g. the sharp contrast in response between netizens on the catastrophic Japan earthquake, the tsunami and the nuclear plant meltdown fiasco (that is still continuing!);
e.g the export of 'fake eggs' from China to surrounding regions;
e.g. the cases of people dying from milk laced or made with nitrate!;
e.g the resistance of the regional and local governments from observing the Central Government Real Estate Administrative Rule No. 8 to rein in the potential destructive real estate bubbles around the country due to severe conflict of interests and 'inadequate' rewards measurement systems of the states;
etc, etc.
Anyway, back in Singapore, things are getting red hot with the PAP and the various Opposition Parties pushing out their candidates in anticipation of the General Election (GE) soon! It seems that besides the Oppositions, many or some younger Singaporeans became bolder and started asking pointed sharp questions of PM Lee in one of the Ministerial dialogue sessions. It certainly augurs will for Singapore as some fundamental principles are due for vigorous debates and deliberation.
Elsewhere, a senior embattled and corruption-investigating Klang Port officer fell to his death at the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission premise. This, the 2nd death fall, with the 1st death still mired in incredulity by the public! The credibility of the government is at stake and it is not our hope to see laws and orders break down in our neigbhour!
Well, I went for my jog after landed in Singapore this morning from Shanghai. I am happy with the sweating and the sun! Sure beats the cold and unpredictable Suzhou weather of the the last 10 days!
Good night!
