Daily Lessons from Life 26 January 2011 - Blair's Sister-In-Law!

"Blair's sister-in-law urges his trial on war crimes - Wed, Jan 26, 2011 AFP

KUALA LUMPUR - Former British prime minister Tony Blair's sister-in-law Lauren Booth, a rights campaigner and Muslim convert, said Wednesday he should be tried for war crimes over the invasion of Iraq.

Booth, the half-sister of Blair's barrister wife Cherie, is in Malaysia for lectures organised by Viva Palestina, a British-based organisation associated with controversial politician George Galloway.

Asked whether Blair should be arrested and sent to the International Court of Justice in The Hague for war crimes, Booth replied: "Absolutely. He misled the British people and took Britain to war on a lie.""

Well well. What a sensational scoop! Or was it? How much credibility does this half-sister (not apparent in the headline! LOL) has on making such an emotionally challenging suggestion on her brother-in-law and if she had spared a thought for her half-sister?

Lessons for me are:

1. there are family and there are relative. Sometimes you are not sure who are your enemies among the relatives! This Ms Booth cannot be taken seriously. Can she?;

2. I must confessed I am not Blair's fan though I do acknowledged some of the good work he and his government had done prior to his 2nd job as the Duty President of USA during the 2nd Gulf War!!;

3. I guessed if Ms Booth has a son or relative or friends who were sent to the 2nd Gulf War and met with some unfortunate incidents, she does has a claim to be emotional and hence that outburst to call for Blair to be put on trial for war crimes! But if she did not, perhaps she is just being objective? :-)

A lighter moment in a dead serious charge in KL, Malaysia but the half-sister of Tony Blair's wife!
