Daily Lessons from Life 31 December 2010 - Review of 2010 Resolutions

It is just 30mins away from the end of 2010 and a good time to review how I perform against the 2010 Resolutions.

My 2010 Resolutions
1 Life Long Pursuit always: - at personal level, to be a good father, husband, son and human being; - at work level, to be a professional; practising the 7e Way of leaders;

Lu: I think I made some and missed some at the personal level while at work I think I have given 100%, if not more, at the work level.

2 To continue the holistic healthy lifestyle of 'eating right and exercising regularly' so as to keep the weight at 73-75kg and off HBP medication;

Lu: Succeeded at keeping the HBP at acceptable level while struggling with the weight issue between 73.6kg (once and due to a stomach issue! LOL!!) and 80kg!! Closed the year at 77kg!! Not a proud record. But no window dressing.

3 To continue to find ways to promote the 7e Way of Leaders, to generate revenue from at least 3 sources, and to get article published in established publications;

Lu: failed quite badly at promoting the 7e Way of Leaders and did not get any article published in established publications. Succeeded in getting 2010 revenues come from MU,Ken Blanchard, Alcatel-Lucent, BMC, Zuellig Pharma, and Tricor.

4 To continue to contribute as Volunteer Probation Officer (VPO) with the Probation Services Branch and volunteer for 1 more charitable organization;

Lu: did more VPO work than 2009 and am please about it but did not get to do another volunteer work.

5 To invest wiser and trade wisely to profit from a 'recovering' 2010;

Lu: did reasonably well in realized gains while still nursing huge unrealized losses.

6 To complete the 2010 SCSM on 05 December 2010 under 6 or 6.5 hours!;

Lu: I made it for the 3rd time at 6hrs 24mins. Slightly worse than 2009 of 6hrs 20mins and 2008 of 5hrs 54mins. More importantly, raised S$5.3k for Singapore Cancer Society.

7 To always has space for the Unexpected.

Lu: 7.1 biggest loss is the passing of my father-in-law. We will miss him. He is a good man with lots of dignity and he gave me the best gift of my life -his daughter, my wife. 7.2 The passing of a Junior College basketball teammate remind me of how life can be frickled. 7.3 did a reasonable work with the customized Project Mgt Workshop with SibelcoAsia under tight deadlines.
