I am commenting on this online news contributed by someone in the AsiaOne.com website about a Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE) scholar being arrested overseas as producer of child pornography!
The so-called citizen or Internet journalists posted millions of news online at various news websites. I wondered IF the contents were verified and authenticated before the website owners let them be published.
While I do know that it is impracticable for the owners to vet all postings, it is expected that for fairly serious issues, efforts must be made to vet. This report definitely falls into 'very serious' category!
Too much reporting with too little authentication is something all users of 'online' contents have to be aware and exercise self-determination!
