No news headlines to comment on tonight but just a reflection about places and friends.
I have often being asked which city is my favourite between Shanghai and Beijing when people learned that I had lived and worked in these 2 great cities of PRC for about 3 years each, and my somewhat disappointing answer is: I love BOTH and I cannot choose 1 over the other!
Why? I cannot choose friends I made in both cities over each other! Shanghai and Beijing, great cities they may be, are just another place to live and work or visit WITHOUT the friends I made!!
Similarly, when I am in Bangkok, Thailand on this trip. I got to visit my old friend, Khun Thirawit and his wife for dinner. The feeling is simply different from just another business trip.
I am thankful for the friends I made and for their friendship always.
