Daily Lessons from Life 14 October 2010 - China's Response to Its Nobel Peace Prize Winner

No special headline to comment on but on the reported responses by the China authority on Mr Liu, a jailed dissident, winning the Nobel Peace Prize awarded by that Nobel Prize Committee in Norway. Yes. That Norway organization!

I was hoping that the supposedly increasingly media savvy Chinese authorities will respond with the following to show how far China has come along:

1. take the news as it is. That someone decided to award a prize to one of its citizens;

2. postpone talks with the Norway organizations and government who have NOTHING to do with the Nobel Prize Committee is simply childish and immature and should had been avoided at ALL costs!;

3. point out that the Peace Prize rarely is free from controversies as it moved into the political realm. e.g. Henry Kissinger? President Obama just last year!! The few unanimous choices were: Mother Teresa, ok I will give it to Nelson Mandala (though even he will admit that there are still much work to be done in South Africa despite it came a long way).

China should SHOW to the world that it knows what is IMPORTANT and what is not. Maybe next time? ...
