"SEOUL: North Korea's heir-apparent Kim Jong-Un and his father Kim Jong-Il attended a major military parade on Sunday in the centre of the capital Pyongyang.

International media were allowed for the first time to broadcast the parade live.

The grand parade was staged to mark the ruling communist party's 65th anniversary.

North Korean TV showed Jong-Un, believed aged about 27, standing a few feet from his father along with other top officials, as thousands of troops marched past along with trucks carrying missiles and other weaponry."

Well, 10.10.10 is an auspicious date for some people. Many choose to get married on this day. While it is as good a time as any to unveil formally the soon-to-be ruler of the People's Republic of Korea (or North Korea), I guessed!

Lessons for me are:

1. interesting to see a dynastic ruling class in our modern world. While the intention is good by the father to want to pass to the son, I wonder if the son has what it takes to make it work for him and his nation;

2. if the son has what it take to make it, fine and well. Kudos to the father for picking the best person for the job from among the MANY supporters of his. If not, all the father's good intention will be in vain when the father passed on! If that is the case, hopefully the decline is only after the father has passed on. What he does not know, does not hurt!! LOL!!;

3. North Korea is still such an enigma for me, and probably for many others. In this day and age, to still have a cult built around the leader of the nation is quite unimaginable. Not even the great Mr. Castro of Cuban can do that. Even though he did installed his brother as the leader - that seems to work so far!! It remains one of my 'To Do' before it changed again after the Father passed on.

I just want to be a witness to history in this case. Only time can tell us if it will work or not. Peace to the world.
