There is NO News headlines to quote though I read about the 'racy defiance against President Obama' in the USA Congress and the unfortunate antics by other anti-Obama factions. So, I shall comment on this.
Lessons for me are:
1. the 'land for the free' is still NOT free from racial tension. Even with a history making Black-African American being elected its 1st non-white President with overwhelming popular votes, there are still the vocal minority against his in a very and visible manner!;
2. if the 'land for the free' is still not there yet on racial issue, what more a young nation like Singapore? Hence, the government stands of 'zero tolerance' on any expression of opinions on race, religion, and language that incite resentment and fan hatred must absolutely be kept to zero regardless of who is in government!;
3. this journey to transform or to influence the change of racial suspicion is a life long one for the current generation, and hopefully a shorter one for the next generation since older folks will have greater difficulties to change vs. the younger generation.
May USA not be torn apart by racial suspicion and be a role model for the rest of the free world!
