An Awakening!
It was reported that Beijing has implemented the odd and even numbers car registration to control the pollution from the exhaust emission from cars!
It is a pressing issue indeed. It is less than a month from the Olympic Game and BJ is desperate to make sure that the air quality is acceptable to the international athletes, the delegation, and the visitors (though restricted in number due to the 'strict visa application' process!).
Lessons for me:
1. I am worried for BJ as I thought the Olympic Game would have been a big impetus for it to fix the pollution problems. It is not happening!!;
2. If BJ could not achieve the pollution control for Olympics, I am very concerned what will happen to the environment after the Olympic Game!! There is NO incentive to improve and maintain the environment clean and 'breath-able'!!;
3. while we have plan to execute, we better execute earlier than later!! It will be a disaster if the environment does not get the benefits of the 'green efforts' by the BJ authority!
May all the athletes be free from 'pollution' and that they can achieve their maximum and optimum!
