"Mexico’s President Cancels His Visit to the White House"
The Mexican President really has no choice but to cancel the visit. Otherwise he will be further humiliated n lose his people's respect, n more importantly, votes!!
Trump is making a big gamble here as insulting an individual is par while insulting a nation will stir irrational n emotional responses from the citizens of Mexico. There may be some Mexicans who can do some damages in the USA itself. I m not sure if Trump has ever thought abt this. Or he had n believes he can deal with nationalistic fanatics who may carry out armed attacks in the USA!!
The citizens of USA has absolutely no stomach for deaths n injuries within their borders as all the big wars were fought outside it except the war against the terrorists!!
Not forgetting there r currently a lot of Mexican-Americans in the USA. Some may take offense at the utter disrespect shown towards their old country, where some loyalty are still fairly strong!!
I wish not chaos on the peace loving people of USA. Yet, I can see how badly this bet by Trump can go so so wrong. Having yr neighbours as enemies is really a very dumb idea even if Trump truly believes he is a once in a century genius!!
