"Massive port city project in Malaysia no threat to Singapore, other ports: Port Klang chairman"
With such a large investment n so close to Sgp, it is realistic to assume that the development further up the "strategic" Malacca Straits should hv some impact on Sgp's entre-port position n volume of trading transactions. To take the opposite position as others claimed with be naive n irresponsible.
Yet the biggest challenge for our strategic planners is: there is very little we can stop the tide of competition given China is asserting it's national interest n international influence with the bold visionary "One Road One Belt" initiative.
Let's hope even with the best equipment, the Malaysian ports n railway will still be uncompetitive due to inadequate human resources n low productivity issues.
Another let's watch carefully development in our region that we can control much.
