"Trump says US automakers should make their products in the USA"
U know what? I thot I would never say this: Trump is right abt this assertion that the US automakers should make their products in the USA!
Why? The market is in the USA. It creates jobs for Americans of all races. It put money in the workers' hands n they can consume to get the real economy going. Yes?
How abt costs 9f production? Well, if labour costs is not a bit part of it, the companies should focus on supply chain mgt. n productivity innovation.
As for overseas markets, the host countries where the markets are should ask ANY automakers to put their plants there!! Of course for small countries, they will hv to 8mport them. Hence in region likes Asean, Indonesia can be the base. That will make Thailand very unwillingly as it has an established auto assembly industry. As for Msia, it has its own national automaker.
Is this protectionism or just plain commonsense for a democratically elected government or President, no matter how controversial the character n the processes might be.
Ps: grave concerns should be felt by freedom lovers in the Philippines as President Duterte "declared" that he may impose martial law if the drug problem bec9mes "virulent"? Hope his definition is agreeable by most of his country men n women as going back to martial law is really the most undesirable th8ng by most Philppinos.
