Not a good time to show off your 1st mat8ve made aircraft carrier really unless one is truly bend on intimidating others.
China is raising the stakes in this "chickens game" recently. Not sure what r the intentions n the objectives really. N that is x problem when one has to guess what these manoeuvres mean when a simple declaration of intentions would hv been most helpful.
In "chicken game", a wrong guess can lead to an accidental unintentional actions n disastrous consequences.
Dangerous indeed. Hope some clear heads with power know when to step back.
2. Abe's Pearl Harbour visit
1st one by such a high ranking official, the PM of Japan, to visit this place where Japanese unexpected air raid resulted in thousands of American sailors, flyboys n soldiers been killed, not mentioning civilians that pushed the USA into direct participation in the WWII! The rest as they say r history. The invaders like Germany, Italy n Japan were defeated by the Allied forces eventually.
While some Chinese critics n others were quite emotional abt this visit, I c it as a reciprocity to Obama's visit to Hiroshima atomic bomb site a year or 2 back. Both nations need to close this chapter.
At the same time, it is totally understandable why some Chinese r quite upset as PM Abe has never visited Nanjing n apologised. In fact, never did apologise. Worst, even denied the terrible atrocity inflicted on the Chinese. This despite s9meone same the number killed n raped n what-have-you paled in comparison with other atrocities committed by warring Chinese troops or other historical internal persecutions. Well, the comparison is invalid as killing each others r OK but getting killed by another race or nation 8s not acceptable! It is a puzzle but it is real. Go figure!!
May there be peace between China n Japan before the USA is dragged into it.
