Daily Lessons from Life 15 February 2019 - The fight never stop against radicalisation

"Two radicalised Singaporeans detained under Internal Security Act

SINGAPORE: Two Singaporean men have been detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA) for their involvement in terrorism-related activities, the Ministry of Home Affairs said on Friday (Feb 15).

Mohamed Kazali Salleh and Hazim Syahmi Mahfoot were both detained in January.

Kazali, a 48-year-old businessman based in Malaysia, was deported to Singapore in January after being arrested in Malaysia last December.

He is a close associate of Syria-based Islamic State militant Malaysian Wan Mohd Aquil Wan Zainal Abidin @ Akel Zainal, MHA said in a news release.

"Akel is believed to be the most senior Malaysian ISIS fighter in Syria, and was identified by the Malaysian authorities to be responsible for two recent ISIS-linked attack plots in Malaysia," MHA added. Islamic State is also known as the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria or ISIS."

The threat is ever present for any person that is motivated by religious rewards as it can offer the ultimate prize called: "Heaven" or whatever name it may be.

While the human master can only offer money, sex n whatever earthy materials that person may desired. Mostly temporary n transient while the final destination named: "Heaven" is for eternity!!

So, as long as someone believes that, s/he can b manipulated to perform self-sacrificing act like killing herself/himself along with tje religion's enemies willingly on the spurt of the moment!

All we can do is to continue to b alert to the behaviours of those we know whom might had been radicalized.

Perhaps we need to b trained to observe: a. sudden change in attitude abt religion; b. more regular expression abt the religion n what wrongs had been done against it by others  c. reading or viewing some known radical elements' websites or literatures, etc.; d. expressing strong interest to join the "holy war"; etc.

These changes r easier to b observed by those ard the "to-be-radicalised" people as thelaws enforcement agencies will b slower to catch on than the people closest to the 'to-be-radicalised"!!

Kudos to the anti-terrorism authority n tks u to the Msian police forces in this collaboration!!
