"StanChart robbery suspect David Roach can be extradited to Singapore: UK court
LONDON/SINGAPORE: A UK judge on Wednesday (Aug 29) ruled that Canadian citizen David Roach, the suspect in the 2016 Standard Chartered bank robbery, can be extradited to Singapore.
The judge dismissed Roach's challenge against extradition to Singapore which revolved around human rights, according to correspondent Olly Barrett."
Finally British has something good to be proud of from one of its wiser judges!!
Criminals hv been hiding behind this "violation of human rights" shield for far too long whrn they were asked to be extradited to a country with strict laws, rulesn orders. So, i applaud this decision. The robber has to face the legal consequences of his daring criminal act!!
You bet i would be the 1st to criticize n object to an extradition asking for Kevin Kwan, the now famous author of the book made into the 1st all Asians cast mainstream Hollywood movie, to Sgp becoz he "defaulted" fr his NS duty as his parents migrated to the USA when he was 11yrs old!
That he could not step back into his country of birth without being arrested n charged for defaulting on his NS duty is punishment enough!!
Let's leave Kevin alone unless he wans to come back n face the music!
As for this "bank robber", let him faces the consequence of his criminal act.
If we jailed n caned him, it is his fault n not the laws that were enacted to deter folks fr a criminal life!!
