A few reports fr the fatal hit-n-run accident of a 25-yr old Sgp citizen a few nights ago got lots of publicity.
Allegations of police asking the friends of the killed victim to clean up the blood at the scene n demanding payment before treating the victim at ICU in the JB hospital, etc. raised emotion n tension.
The hospital concerned was quick to provide facts without accusing anyone of malicious intention is the right PR move.
State the fact without attacking any "suspect malicious rumour mongers" or people who were just adding their own input to the situation is wise. The people who acted deliberately will spin on the attack. The people who merely passed on inaccurate information felt been attacked.
All the people needs to know r just solid facts. Kudos to the PR team.
Not sure if the Malaysian's police had responded to that "clean up the blood" allegation? I hope they had even though it sounded incredulous that the police would hv given such instructions!!
This case reminded me of that "female driver killed a few kids riding bikes in the middle of the night" case where the police subsequently revealed that those kids had been putting themselves in hurts way with reckless n dangerous riding for months despite police actions. That driver had no chance to avoid that particular accident supposedly.
So, the truth must be told n facts presented asap to stop emotion fr going out of hands.
Latest news read that the Malaysia authorities will write to Sgp to address these false accusations. This is good. Hopefully factual n without emotion.
With so many interactions between Sgp n Msia people in JB, it is critical no suspicions be allowed to linger n go out of control.
Peace n harmony between us n Msia is critical.
