Daily Lessons from Life 03 April 2017 - Imam Nalla case: Suspended NUS prof apologises, expected to resume duties

"Imam Nalla case: Suspended NUS prof apologises, expected to resume duties - CNA 3 April 2017

SINGAPORE: The National University of Singapore (NUS) academic who was suspended for his comments relating to an imam's controversial remarks about Christians and Jews has received a letter of warning from the university.
Associate Professor Khairudin Aljunied, who is part of the university's Department of Malay Studies, had on Facebook, criticised the person who uploaded video of the imam's Friday sermon and indicated support for his supplication. The imam has since apologised for the remarks and been fined S$4,000.
Earlier on Monday, the Ministry of Home Affairs said it issued stern warnings in lieu of prosecution for both Assoc Prof Khairudin and Terence Kenneth John Nunis, the man who made public the video of Nalla's sermon."
So it is settled. Fined and out of the country.
Did not know there was this Asso Prof involved too. Interesting revelation. It once again shows that the emotional element of religion is more powerful than rationality and intelligence! At first and good to have 2nd thought!
It also shows that we simply have to work doubly hard to maintain religious harmony in S'pore. Let it be known that all religions should just focus on saying how GOOD they are and leave other religions alone.
In addition, it would be good to have a DEFINITIVE answer from the SPF what should we do when we next come across something like this since what Mr Nunis had done is still NOT appropriate.
Peace to S'pore and peace to the world.
