Daily Lessons from Life 28 September 2016 - No. Not me for PM!!

"DPM Tharman 'categorically' rules himself out from becoming PM - CNA 28 September 2016"

SINGAPORE: Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam on Wednesday (Sep 28) "categorically" ruled himself out from becoming Prime Minister.
"Just to be absolutely clear, because I know there's this talk going around ... I'm not the man for PM, I say that categorically. It's not me," he told reporters on the sidelines of the launch of the Wong Fong Industries Building."
Well, what a pity that he is not interested in being the PM. By most people's reckoning he is the most qualified though I think he is no armed forces man.
Good to know the cabinet is a team n each has his/her strengths n weaknesses. Still there must be a leader who will make the toughest decision after all team members had contributed their ideas n choices. Even if it is by voting n the leader has to vote to veto n goes his/her own choice.
When that fail, all will take responsibility. That's the nature of the beast. Like it or not.
All the best to the team as the future can only be more challenging as others wise up too, slowly but surely.
ps: debates on personal mobility device maining n potentially killing their co-share pedestrians got some attention lately. My take has been: 1. if u must, limit speed to 8km/hr max. No one need to go faster on these devices in shared footpaths. Otherwise take a bus or car or motorbike!; 2. no mercy on violators. Fine n Jail n Caning r must hv deterrent; 3. if u can afford, separate lanes fr pedestrians please. PMD except those for physically challenged users of motorised wheelchairs must not be on pedestrian path.
Some serious injuries had already happened, let's not wait till one of your loved ones get injured before u act. u here means the power-that-be!
