1. Bradexit!
What a title!! Taking the cue from Brixit where UK voted to leave EU!!
Angelina is one of a kind for sure. From a rebellious and wilful child to mature statewoman-like human being and mother of 6 kids. Quite a journey at 41 years old. This will be her 3rd divorce.
Brad is cool though I did not quite like his handsome face and uninspiring acting roles. He too had grown on me and gained my respect as a character actor.
Alas, if the reasons for Bradexit is true, it is a sad situation and Brad will need to overcome those behavioural issues to be whole again. If he wants to, he probably can.
All the best to the couple and the kids.
2. Paralympian and Olympian Rewards
Did not realise that the Newpaper Sports writer wrote that Ms Yip (2 Paralympian Gold with 1 world record) is NOT in the same league as Joseph Schooling's Olympic Gold with an Olympic Record.
I think it is an inappropriate use of the word: 'in the same league' as that writer wrote about the number of competitors Joseph has to face and having to go through the heat, semi-final and then the final while Ms Yip's went straight into the final and with a much smaller field.
He probably meant to use, or should had used, the word: 'different competitive environment' or anything other than 'not in the same league'!
Also, he made a mistake, a BIG ONE, that Ms Yip's impact is not as great as Joseph's win! Here again he might had meant: the impact created by Ms Yip is MUCH MUCH bigger than anything that Joseph could have created for the physically disabled or handicapped people that do sports!
Just as normal people, NOT everyone do sports. So, the % of physically challenged people that do sports are very low too relatively speaking. IF Ms Yip, and not forgetting Ms Goh, achievement can galvanise more physically challenged people to do sports, the IMPACT, positive impact, created will be IMMENSE.
Keeping active and doing sports is definitely very healthy activities for the physically challenged, again not forgetting the physically normal, people.
So, the IMPACT can be immense. Ms Yip and Mr Schooling are both creating big positive impact to PEOPLE who are inspired by their achievements. They are in the SAME LEAGUE here!
As for the demand for the same monetary rewards, I do agree that it is not the same COMPETITIVE environment. At the same time, to be the BEST in the world and the Olympic, Para or Normal, one is STILL the best, and hence should be given rewards that commensurate with the status and the efforts. In fact, for the paralympians, their training and investment in equipment, nutrition, etc. may be even MORE than a normal Olympian!
