1. MAS relaxing the TDSR so mortgagees can 'refinance' under certain conditions
Is this an act to get the economy to grow a little bit from real estate section? I hope not as having growth through higher properties prices cannot benefit the masses though convenient and fast way to boost the GDP number!
It is a short-term vs. a long-term issue. Just remember to long term ramification on young couples who cannot afford to have a roof over their heads to start a 3-kid family!
2. Old trick - Hokkien clips for the Seniors launched!
What do you know! Hokkien clips on public media! Unthinkable after the government of old tried to get all Chinese to speak Mandarin and forget about their dialects to promote unity.
Maybe unity is now assured so the need to make sure that the elderly who do not really know Mandarin are let in on the know about the 'national issues' that impact their lives intimately!!
Whatever it is, it is good to see the 'pink elephant' in the room instead of ignoring it for the longest time when folks in the public sector know that the many English PR materials and money spent did not really help the non-English elderlies to understand ANY of the intended messages!
Do we want all the kids to speak dialects again? Maybe. Or maybe NOT! Whatever they want ... :-)
