1. "Singaporeans report 'haze' smell - CNA 29 Mar 2016
SINGAPORE: The 3-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) crept up from Tuesday afternoon (Mar 29) before peaking at 87 at 8pm, the highest level this year. It went down to 83 by 10pm.
In response to media queries, the National Environment Agency (NEA) said there are a few possible causes for a burning smell in the air. It could be due to "transboundary smoke haze from forest and peat fires in the region, the occurrence of local fires or other localised sources of burning". It added that smells may not always be accompanied by higher PSI or PM2.5 readings."
Early HAZE? I HOPE NOT!!
If it is from transboundary smoke haze from forest and peat fires in the region, the skeptics TOTALLY will have a field day saying: I told you so. See. A lot of rubbishes and a freaking waste of money on ALL THOSE high POWER talks and summits and what have you!!
Or like the LTA warning LED reads: 'Bush fire' in Singapore due to the EXTREMELY hot and dry weather lately?
Personally I hope it is the latter as it means the Presidents and PMs and highly ranked Ministers of Asean can STILL provide some optimism that THEIR pledges to STOP this ANNUAL 'kill yourself and your neighbours haze' WILL STOP!
Will I be walking around with a mask? Not yet. Hopefully never have to in 2016!!
2. "Yang Kaiheng boasted about 'passive income' from TRS: Prosecutor - CNA 29 Mar 2016

2. "Yang Kaiheng boasted about 'passive income' from TRS: Prosecutor - CNA 29 Mar 2016
SINGAPORE: Yang Kaiheng allegedly boasted about earning an impressive "passive income" and offered to split profits with a web developer if he could keep the The Real Singapore (TRS) website in "tip-top condition", a District Court heard on Tuesday (Mar 29).
The prosecution on Tuesday tendered several pages of Skype chat logs for the user "able_tree", a shared account used by both Yang, 27, and his Australian wife Ai Takagi, 23, Deputy Superintendent Roy Lim said.
Yang faces seven counts under the Sedition Act for seditious posts published on TRS. The anti-foreigner posts aimed to "maliciously exploit racial and xenophobic faultlines", targeting foreigners from the Philippines, India and China."
The young couple SUPPOSEDLY made A$20-50k/month on GoogleAdv!! This is IMPRESSIVE!! I wonder WHY though as I NEVER ever BUY ANYTHING from ANY advertisements when browsing these 'alternative news websites', however infrequent! In fact, unsolicited advertisements TOTALLY TURNED ME OFF! Period!!
Alas, I must be the minority and NOT online savvy enough to BUY and BUY! Or maybe I am just very fortunate to know that when you pass 55 years old, 'less is more' in terms of CONSUMPTION of foods and drinks and other earthly pleasures!?!
So, boast if he must as it is, by any measure, a handsome sum to make for putting up a site that draws people to it for 'political discussion' and, I guessed, to BUY THINGS(??)!!
Did he or they FABRICATED stories to 'attract traffics' to their website? If they did, shame on them. They get what's coming their way. Justice served!! Since the wife has already been sentenced to jail with her baby she is carrying, maybe Yang should just ask for the same treatment and keep her and the baby company. It would SELL and ATTRACT tons of visitors to their website even when they are enjoying FREE lodging and meals on the Singapore government's accounts!! ;-)
