1. A most frustrating 5 days in PRC as I was shocked to learn that not only could I NOT access my Blogger account, which I have gotten used to every time I am in PRC, I could NOT access my gmail as well this time round without access to a VPN!! It seemed the Chinese government is blocking gmail as Google refuses to 'block' those messages and websites with porn materials in China due to it strongly held belief of: freedom of expression and access to information!
Well, I respect Google for its stance but I don't quite understand as OTHER firms have complied since spreading of porn materials CANNOT be the mainstay of any internet platform companies right?
2. That led me to comment on the BIGGEST FARCE on earth currently: the re-election of the FIFA President! FIFA has been roiled in corruption scandals many times in the last few years if not decades and even with the 'stealth' attack and arrests of high ranking FIFA officials and the appearance of the FBI Director at the US AG Press Conference in the USA on these arrests and charges, the INCUMBENT FIFA President STILL get elected!!
Oh dear oh dear. I would have committed hara-kiri had I been working for FIFA as anyone with a strong conscience would be eating himself/herself alive with such shame and confused sense of what is right and wrong!!
It is making the already challenging task of educating kids all over the world that the world values integrity and honesty and what-know when the world most influential game is governed by a group of greedy, dishonest and corrupt people with no shame! How ironical.
I almost wanted to vomit when the re-elected President ended his 'acceptance' speech with: Go FIFA go!!
I am tired and confused. Maybe this is a world beyond my normal rational minds! Maybe I need to be re-educated by these powerful and 'rich' people on how all consuming corruption can be!
Nah. That would be the day that I die. Yes. I would rather die than to work in such a sick organization. Thankfully I am working somewhere else!!
