Daily Lessons from Life 07 June 2015 - Sabah quake: Singapore declares Monday, Jun 8, National Day of Remembrance

1. "Sabah quake: Singapore declares Monday, Jun 8, National Day of Remembrance - AsiaOne  Jun 07, 2015"

Slim hope was dashed when more bodies were found and 5 students, 1 teacher and 1 adventure guide were identified among the dead. I think there are still 1 more student and 1 teacher missing. Maybe. Just maybe, they are SAFE! Until their bodies are found, one simply just have to hold on to the hope. No matter how slim it may be!!

A sad sad day for Singapore. A National Day of Remembrance will hopefully ease somewhat the pains felt by those who had lost their loved ones.

2. My CONGRATULATIONS to the Netball Singapore team for winning the Gold Medal at the SEA Games after beating our long time worthy opponents, Malaysia, this afternoon.

Or should I, or anyone, be celebrating this sporting event in the midst of the tragic losses I just commented in item 1 above?

I decided to celebrate this sporting achievement as I think the surviving families and relatives and loved ones of those who had departed would WANT them to live strong and get on after grieving for their passing. 'They' would not want their surviving loved ones to grieve forever and not move on.

Still, everyone decent would acknowledge that while life must go on, a sporting triumph will NEVER match the significance and meaning of life lost!

With a heavy heart we shall start the week tomorrow!
